Abigail Goehring

  • Abigail is a true California girl, born and raised in Northern California.
  • She began her dance journey at the age of three and perused classical ballet for 15 years to the pre-professional level.
  • Abigail trained with The Sacramento Ballet and Capitol Ballet with a combined 13 consecutive years of Nutcracker performances in various roles from Clara to Spanish, Snow to Merliton and Flower.
  • Even as a young dancer Abigail has attended multiple summer intensives including The Rock School, ABT and Joffrey Ballet Contemporary Ballet.
  • Abigail has participated in YAGP in both classical and contemporary performances.
  • She has performed a wide range of repertoire including Swan Lake, Sylvia, Giselle, Paquita, La Bayadere, Don Quixote and many originally choreographed pieces. 

Abigail is passionate about being able to support and encourage young dancers so they can truly feel the joy and beauty of the art form WHILE loving themselves for who they are. Dance is for all!

David Woods

David Woods, M.F.A., University of Arizona, B.F.A., University of Utah,
  • David has been a dance and fitness professional since 1985, His Ballet training began under the direction of William F. Christensen at the Ballet West Christensen Academy, Ballet West and various teachers through-out the pacific ballet region.
  • He has performed with Lexington Ballet (Rose Miles) Lexington Kentucky,
  • Montgomery Ballet (Don Steffy), Montgomery Alabama
  • Ballet Arts ensemble (Mary Beth Cabana), Tucson Arizona
  • Utah Ballet (Conrad Ludlow), Salt Lake City Utah and Utah Regional Ballet (Jackie College).
  • David was the recipient of the Dance Magazine Craft of Choreography Scholarship and received the Capezio talent award for dance. 
  • David has taught Ballet for Eastern Kentucky University, The University of Arizona (under the direction of Jory Hancock and Melissa Lowe) and guest taught for Brigham Young University.
  • He is a sought after instructor because of his motivating demeanor and his diverse knowledge and background. 
  • He is Pilates certified through the Physical-Mind Institute and Balanced Body Education.
  • From Ballet dancer, Choreographer, University and Regional Instructor he incorporates all methods and techniques from his background to give you a solid, inspiring and challenging workout.

 Heather Hill

  • Began training at En Pointe Ballet in 2012. 
  • Began her ballet training at age 3 at Linda Fenton Dance Studio and Mountain West Ballet  
  • Has performed in many roles with En Pointe Ballet, such as Swanhilda’s friend; the Midnight Duet in Coppelia
  • Performed Principal roles as Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella in Cinderella.
  • Attended Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in Sugar House, training with Bethany Hansen and Michelle Armstrong. 
  • During her senior year of high school, she joined the schools’ dance company
  • Competed in at the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City
  • Competed in the Northwest Regional High School Dance Festival in Vancouver, Washington.
  • Joined our staff as a teacher Fall of 2019 and is very excited to be back to teach and to learn!
  • Her motto is: “You only fail when you stop trying”

 Heather Winegar

  • Heather Winegar found her love of dance as a teenager, and began assistant teaching within her first few years of formal classes. 
  • While Heather has preformed and taught classes in modern, jazz, tap, folk dance, hip hop, and was a member of West Jordan High School's color guard, ballet has always been her passion. 
  • Heather completed a Bachelor's Degree in Dance Performance (with minors in French and Art History) from Southern Utah University in 2017 with a capstone project on injury prevention in dance, and completed her second Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen University in 2021.
  • During the course of her bachelor's degree, Heather was able to perform in an exert of Balanchine's Serenade, as well as learning excerpts from his Concerto Barocco and Stars and Stripes. She also performed in Gamut staged by a member of RDT, as well as various student and faculty choreographed pieces. 
  • Heather has a deep love of technique, and loves the challenge of making small adjustments to perfect technique and improve little by little. She has a strong knowledge of injury prevention and enjoys creating and teaching combinations that build on each other and challenge students to improve their technique and challenge their brains. Heather feels that technique is the foundation that helps students become successful while staying physically safe and avoiding injuries.
  • Heather incorporates body positivity in all of her classes and strives to help students understand their bodies and how they work and helping them apply this knowledge to their dancing and technique. 

 Marcus Brown

 

Mayra Berrios

Born in Venezuela in 1982, Mayra Berríos, began ballet training at the age of 4. Her childhood and formative years were steeped in the world of dance, particularly in the Vaganova ballet method.

In 1999 while attending university, she joined the Ballet de Maracaibo, performing under the guidance of esteemed ballet masters Nedo and Sasha Vojkic, two accomplished dancers from Saint Petersburg, Russia, until the 2003. With Ballet Maracaibo she danced in renowned pieces such as the Waltzes of Strauss, Ballet Appassionata, Suite Don Quixote, and The Nutcracker, a performance she reprised each December.

In 2004, she married, and in 2005, she welcomed her first child, a son. She graduated with a degree in journalism in 2008, and embarked on a career in various media outlets and institutions as a journalist. Her family grew with the birth of her daughter in 2015.

In 2017, she earned her second degree, this time in Management Communication, then at the same year, she moved with her family to the United States.

By 2019, she had rekindled her passion for ballet, joining the adult classes at En Pointe School of Ballet.

In 2021, she began teaching ballet at En Pointe, where she continues to both dance and instruct in beloved classics such as Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Cinderella, Snow White, and The Nutcracker each December.

In 2019, she began working as a Spanish interpreter for a company dedicated to serving people with hearing loss, facilitating phone calls through captioned subtitles. That same year, she joined Utah Community Action’s Head Start program as a substitute teacher, supporting preschool children in their early development, a role they continue to fulfill.

From 2022 to 2024, Mayra expanded her educational impact by serving as a classroom assistant at Hayden Peak Elementary School. During the first year, she taught the Second Step program, focusing on social-emotional learning, and the following year took charge of the copy room and supervised lunch recess, contributing to a positive school environment.

Natasha Ellis

  • Began dancing at age 3 at various studios in the Salt Lake Valley 
  • Inspired her mom to begin teaching again in 2009
  • Began her training at En Pointe in 2010
  • Volunteered as a Class Assistant for numerous years at En Pointe  
  • Began teaching at En Pointe Fall 2019
  • Performed in numerous Classical Ballets with En Pointe
  • Soloist roles as the Dying Swan, Lucille, Sugar Plum Fairy, Coppélia doll, Snow Queen, Black Cat, Dew Drop, and Evil Queen 
  • Also enjoys doing art, piano, video games, singing, cosplaying, and interior design
  • Her motto is: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"

Parker Niksich

 

 

 Sofia Pollini

  • Born in the Netherlands, grew up in England, Italian and American citizen 
  • Trained professionally as a ballet dancer for 3 years in Scotland 
  • Toured with a Scottish ballet company performing in Giselle, Nutcracker and Swan Lake
  • Trained and Certified as a Ballet teacher with Royal Academy of Dance, London
  • Degree in Ballet Performance from the University of Bath, United Kingdom
  • Finalist in 2019 Scottish Youth Ballet Grand Prix 
  • Soloist with the English Youth Ballet, performing in the Sleeping Beauty 
  • Attended Summer Intensives at English National Ballet, Central School of Ballet, Ballet West
  • Attended twice-yearly workshops with principals at the Royal Ballet, London. 

Dance quote: ‘Non posso, ho danza’ – This Italian phrase translates to ‘I can’t, I have dance class.’ (When dance is your passion, it is always your number one priority!)
