Gaynor Minden Pointe Shoes

The official pointe shoe for En Pointe School of Ballet is Gaynor Minden

We prefer Gaynor Minden pointe shoes as they are the best pointe shoes on the market.  They cost more than other brands but they last three times longer, so they are a much better value.  Gaynor Minden Pointe shoes typically last for a year whereas other brands wear out anywhere from 2 to 6 months. They provide more support and are therefore better for a dancer's feet, as well as being the most comfortable pointe shoe available.

"EN POINTE" is a French term for dancing on your toes in special shoes called pointe shoes. Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. A dancer is said to be en pointe when the dancer's body is supported in this manner. Pointe work is performed while wearing pointe shoes, which employ structural reinforcing to distribute the dancer's weight load throughout the foot, thus reducing the load on the toes enough to enable the dancer to support all body weight on fully vertical feet.
